Encampment Grooming and Uniform Standards

 Uniform & Grooming Standards

All participants wearing the Air Force-style uniform must comply with grooming and dress guidelines outlined in CAPM 39-1. Cadets who do not meet these standards will be unable to in-process until their appearance is corrected.

Responsibility for Cadet Appearance The adult accompanying the cadet will be responsible for ensuring compliance. If necessary, this may include:

  • Visiting a barber

  • Returning home to resolve grooming concerns

Squadron commanders will be notified of any grooming-related delays. To prevent issues upon arrival, unit leaders are strongly encouraged to conduct uniform and grooming checks prior to encampment.

Quick-Reference & Regulations

A flyer on hair standards is attached for easy reference. Cadets should also familiarize themselves with regulations concerning:

  • ⌚ Watch band colors

  • 💍 Jewelry and accessories

  • 💅 Nail polish color

  • 🪒 Shaving requirements

  • 🧳 Backup items (e.g., glasses, uniform components)
