Basic Cadet Guide

The Jackson County Composite Squadron likes to help out current cadets as well as new cadets with their testing and overall Civi Air Patrol experience. This page is dedicated to help the new cadets pass their first test, the Curry Achievement. When passes, it entitles them to their first grade, Cadet Airman.

Leadership for the Twenty-first Century- This is the book that every cadet studies out of up until they achieve their Mitchell and become a second lieutenant

AFMAN 36-2203- This manual is the Air Force manual on drill movements and ceremonies that cadets start to learn as basics and then continue learning as they progress through the ranks.

CAPM 39-1- CAPM 39-1 is the manual on the uniform and grooming standards the Civil Air Patrol requires.

CAPP 52-18- Every cadet must pass a physical fitness test on every rank they get unless otherwise noted by a doctor. This manual describes the test and how it is done. It also has the requirements cadets must pass.

General Knowledge- This document contain knowledge that ever cadet should know by the time they earn their Curry achievement.
