EMERGENCY SERVICES

Civil Air Patrol conducts 95% of all inland search and rescue (SAR) missions in the United States as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and other agencies.

As a result, Civil Air Patrol saves an average of 100 lives per year in addition to providing disaster-relief support to local, state and national disaster relief organizations.

With the largest fleet of single engine, piston aircraft in the world, Civil Air Patrol has a proven track record of successfully transporting time-sensitive medical materials, blood products and body tissues throughout the United States.

More than 120,000 hours are flown each year by volunteers year in support of homeland security reconnaissance, air search and rescue, damage assessment, radiological monitoring, light transport, communications support and low-altitude route surveys for the U.S. Air Force.

In addition, Civil Air Patrol assists federal agencies in the war on drugs.
