            The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is dedicated to encouraging America’s youth to become better citizens through education in leadership, aerospace, and emergency services. CAP was founded on December 1, 1941, and the Cadet Program has existed for many years. Here in Savannah, we promote the CAP core values amongst our cadets: Integrity, Excellence, Respect, and Volunteer Service.

Our cadets have the opportunity to participate in various activities, including Georgia Wing’s Annual Encampment.  Our cadets love the chance to travel and work with other cadets across the Wing.  We have enjoyed participating at Summer Encampment both as staff members and attendees.  Our cadets are active in the CAC and have held positions on the State Honor Guard.  We volunteer at air shows and special events.  We have the honor of marching annually in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade held each February in Savannah.  This is the second largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the nation and is a fun and challenging day, full of military from all divisions.  The last two years we have been honored to present the colors alongside the Air Force.   

Orientation flights are a very important part of the Cadet Program and our pilots are amongst the nation’s best.  They guide cadets to think critically and offer excellent instruction that lasts a lifetime. 

In recent years, our cadets have gone on to be accepted at the Air Force Academy, Westpoint, and ROTC programs.  Recent Savannah cadets are currently serving in the Marines and Air Force where their Civil Air Patrol skills help them to protect our nation. 

We also actively train in Emergency Services, such as Ground Team Training and Urban Direction Finding, and often participate in regional SAREX training missions.  Our Aerospace Education is also a top priority and most recently, we won an Aerospace based Quiz Bowl event at the Wing level.  Here in Savannah, we learn the importance of team work.  We strive to be the best.
